Cleaning Your Yorkshire Terriers Teeth

You must brush your Yorkies teeth to prevent gum disease, infection, remove plaque, bad breath, and brighten the teeth. Although dogs don’t get cavities, they can suffer from gum disease,Yorkshire Terriers are very prone to this, and if left untreated, can become very painful and lead to tooth loss. You should start when your Yorkie is a puppy and that will make this task much easier. When you bring your new Yorkie puppy home start by placing your finger between the teeth and the lips and gently rub. He will think you are playing with him. This is an excellent way to get your Yorkie ready for the real thing, brushing

When you’re ready to brush your Yorkies teeth, gather your supplies pet toothpaste and your dog’s toothbrush. You can also ue the finger brushes.

Squeeze a small amount of toothpaste onto the toothbrush; work the toothpaste into the brush slightly.

Place the bristles at your Yorkies gum line (where the teeth and gums meet), and using a gentle rotating motion, brush the teeth. Be sure to get around the base of the tooth and between the teeth. After you have finished with brushing use a rinse made for cainies. Now your little Yorkie will have clean teeth and fresh breathe for all those little kisses.
